If you are taking a selfie, you are confident in how you look and feel good about it. Great!
If you share your selfie on social media you are telling everyone else that you are confident in how you look and feel good about it. Marvellous!
Now I understand why some people find this behaviour narcissistic and I’ve heard it described as a “”sad indication of our “me” culture””. Fair enough, for some that might be absolutely true.
But… why not dig a bit deeper and think about what else it signifies.
If you’re not confident in yourself, you can’t lead others to positive body and mind image. If you don’t look after yourself, you’re not in a position to help anyone else.
That’s an important point to remember (and I’m writing it here to also remind myself).
So I’m choosing to support your selfies. Take them when you’re all dressed up, take them when you have last night’s make up on and are still in your PJs, take them when you’ve just been to the gym and your fringe is sticking to your face with well earned sweat. Go for it! If you feel confident and feel good about yourself and you want to take a pic to celebrate, I for one will click LIKE ❤
